The American Institute of Bangladesh Studies awards grants of six to ten months duration for junior research fellowships in Bangladesh. Grantees must be United States citizens or permanent residents. In addition to stipends in Bangladeshi Taka, the grants provide round trip transportation. Applications must be received by February 1 with consideration for study beginning in the summer or fall of that same year.

Junior Fellowships are for those who are in the ABD phase of their Ph.D. program. Applicants must be in the data collection and writing stage.

Fellowships will be equivalent to $800 plus research and dependents' allowances per month in non-convertible Bangladesh Taka.

Round-Trip Air Transportation will be provided via the most direct route and using the Bangladesh carrier whenever possible.
