This program allows institutional members to bring to their institutions
a Bangladeshi scholar for up to a semester for teaching and research. AIBS will provide a round trip air
ticket from Dhaka to the US by the most direct route and will also provide
financial support of up to $4,500 plus cost of insurance for the period.
Through their AIBS Trustees, institutional members submit a letter
to the President stating the name of the scholar they propose to invite and providing full details about the scholar's area of teaching
or research, the Bangladesh institution with which the scholar is affiliated,
and the dates of the proposed visit. These letters are due by February 1st. When funds permit, AIBS offers up to two such fellowships each year. The decision
is made by the AIBS Board at its annual Spring meeting and is usually announced by mid-April.
